We can say that the asphalt recycling is reuse from existing asphalt layers that have been in service. Aging happens on materials that have already lost their properties.

The advantages of this technique provides not only environmental benefits but also economic gains, as it helps the reduced use of raw materials, in this case oil and bituminous products.

Recycling techniques.

This kind of methods rely on the reuse of defective materials. Together with these materials aged, you can add additional elements (rejuvenating agents, new asphalt mix, etc..). These techniques can be divided in different types, which we briefly below:

Recycled “in situ” hot. Reuses the entire firm materials extracted from aged by treatment with heating that takes place in the same location of the work.
The asphalt Solution is heated by a burner and milled a given thickness. This material is typically mixed with chemical rejuvenating and remix. Finally, the new mixture is spread and compacted by conventional methods.
